The Sound of Drums
Our seedlings have been very busy for the past month of school. As we are starting to learn more about each other and our environment, we have had the opportunity to put our strengths together.
The sound of drums and bells has become a regular attraction while out on the playground. Our
seedlings are very musically inclined and have all expressed interest in joining our classroom “band”. We have drummers, dancers, singers and more. The band also travels by train to our next shows.
During our first indoor recess, we were able to use real instruments, as opposed to our usual
buckets and cups. We learned about a tambourine, the triangle, several shakers, and a xylophone. Some of our favorite songs include “Going on a Bear Hunt”, “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, and “Shake Your Silly’s Out”. Perhaps by the end of the year we will be able to put on a show for the rest of the school. Until
then we will stick to preforming in the Courtyard by our Critter Cabin!
